Nature Play & Learn
The Greenplay Northwest Play & Learn is a nature-based playgroup for children ages 0-5 and their family, friends, and neighbor caregivers. Together we explore outside, sing songs, share stories and learn through nature exploration and play. We provide a healthy snack and enjoy our outdoor classroom rain or shine!
This program is designed to be an introduction to open-ended nature play with our facilitators acting as mentors, supporting caregivers as they experience the power of nature with their children. Caregiver participation is required.
This is a donation-supported drop-in program, no registration is required.
As affiliates of the Kaleidoscope Play and Learn model, our group is led by trained facilitators who guide children and their caregivers through a variety of developmental activities that promote early learning, and is inclusive of all young children, languages, and cultures.
Play & Learn Class Details

Fall 2024 Nature Play & Learn Update
Greenplay Northwest’s Nature Play and Learn classes strive to connect young children and their families to the benefits of time spent playing and learning in nature. Our educators provide outdoor play spaces that support creativity, grow confidence and foster children’s connections to animals, our earth and their community friends.
We know that early learning program tuitions can create an inequitable hardship for families. For this past school year, we hoped to be able to offer our community an affordable outdoor early learning opportunity supported by donations. While we did experience a beautiful school year with amazing attendance, we were far from being able to cover our overhead expenses.
In order for Greenplay Northwest to be able to continue to offer these classes in a sustainable way, we must make some changes for the 2024 Fall season. The requested donation per family, per class is $15. Any amount given above the $15 per class will help cover the difference for families that are currently facing financial hardships. Classes will be once a week on Wednesday mornings at our Osceola Garden School location. The continuation of this program is dependent on the support of our community.
Donation amounts are confidential, and all participants receive the same experience, no matter how much is given. We trust our families to help us build a healthy, inclusive, nature-loving community. We will continue to offer these classes for as long as we are financially able to. All attendees must sign in with your Nature Play & Learn facilitator at the beginning of each class. If attending for the first time, please be sure to complete the initial registration paperwork before participating.
Donations can be given at the beginning of class via cash, check (Greenplay Northwest) or Venmo (@greenplaynorthwest). Greenplay Northwest is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. When filing for taxes, please use tax ID #46-4864208. Receipts available upon request.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us via email. We are grateful for this community and look forward to another lovely autumn season at the farm.
Make a donation.
Greenplay Northwest is accepting donations to help cover the costs for our Nature Play and Learn meetups. Costs covered include site use fees, insurance, equipment/supplies, snacks, educators and administrative costs.
